Music Team:
Sunday morning is all about treasuring Christ together, and we just can’t
do that as spectators. Please be assured that we do not intend to make our times
of gathering worship stodgy and overly-formal. Instead, by knowing why we do what
we do when we worship together, I hope that we can say things like “Thanks
be to God” after the Scripture reading and mean it, shout it, and believe
it. Sunday morning should become a “launching pad” that ignite lives
of worship throughout the week as we minister to and serve one another and reach
out to those who do not know Christ.
May we truly be a community of true worshipers who love lives of faithfulness
to King Jesus even in the midst of persecution and seduction.
Mission Team:
God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him. We indeed are His
hands and His feet to go into all the world and proclaim news of Jesus Christ.
To God’s glory, the Windham Baptist Church Mission Team puts together
all of the important pieces together to insure we have a comprehensive, effective
and God honoring vision of how we conduct missions and make recommendations of
those we feel lead to support financially.
Be sure to visit our Missionary section of this website to get to know our
missionaries.
Salt and Light Youth Ministry:
By God’s Grace and for His Glory, we bring teens to Christ and membership
in His Family, disciple them to a Christ-like maturity and equip them for their
ministry to the church and life mission to the world.
Salt and Light meets Wednesday nights at Windham Baptist Church at 6 pm.
Small Groups:
As a church we are committed to a small group strategy. In the book of Acts
we catch our first glimpse of a similar priority. Acts 5:12 tells us that the
people “were all in one accord in Solomon’s Portico”;
a covered section of the court of the Gentiles in the temple area. Acts 2:46 refers
to this corporate meeting but it also presents a second dynamic, “Day
by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to
house”. While the group met together, they also met in smaller gatherings
in peoples homes. Our goal is to share both experiences.
Why, because small groups afford us opportunities that are not available during
our corporate meetings. We can easily ask questions, pray intimately for each
others needs, encourage each other, and develop deeper relationships.
Three priorities exist for each group: to grow deeper in their love for God
through the study of God’s word, to pursue a commitment to serving others
together, and to spread the good news of Jesus’ redemption. To achieve these
goals I presented a challenge during our small group celebration. Each of our
groups should cultivate a three unique roles – administrators, shepherds
and teachers. This will allow more people to share their gifts and prepare more
small group leaders for the future.
Please visit the small group section of the website to see where and who are
small groups are.
Puppet Ministry:
This year because of the busy schedule of our puppeteers, we were not able
to do any performances. We look to have more people interested in being puppeteers
so that we can plan some performances, in the summer and at Christmas. Anyone
interested in serving the Lord by joining our puppet team, please see me when
we get back the beginning of May, or e-mail me at capcoffin@juno.com.
Sunday School:
Each Sunday we have offered at least two or three solid classes along with
classes for teens and children involved in learning and growing.
Technical Ministry:
We are the "blowhorns" for the pastors and praise group. It is our
job to provide undistracted excellence in regards to visual and sound so that
the message of Christ can be communicated artistically and effectually. Is this
so that we can put on a good show? Definitely not. It is so we can be used by
Christ as a tool to proclaim the saving message of Jesus Christ! My prayer is
that every person involved in this ministry will grow in Christ through what they
are doing for and by Him.
Are these the only ministries at Windham Baptist Church? Absolutely not!!!
There is also ministries aimed at just men and women, summer
youth programs, and the nursery. God has blessed this
church with many strong and growing leaders!
